AMAECHI: The President Nigeria Needs Now
At this time of our nation's history, Nigeria requires the ascension to the presidency, someone with the requisite experience, impeccable character , a bridge builder, proven records of service delivery and a patriotic Nigerian. These are major quality components that should be expected from anyone who aspires to lead the country in the forthcoming 2023 general election , to take us to the next level ,that will accord this nation the desired respect in the comity of nations, and thus attract developments.
One man that has earned much accolades and adjudged successful in the aforementioned areas by the vast majority of the Nigerian populace, including even his avowed haters, is His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
Experience, they say, is the best teacher. When it relates to experience in government, Amaechi an epitome such in our present Nigeria, having served in various capacities, from the Local Government, State , and now the Federal.
There is no gainsaying the fact that at this time, Nigeria needs someone who can deploy his vast experience to bear in governance. Amaechi has being in government, and held several positions, wherein he unarguably excelled. These wealth of experience of the workings of government at the various cadres, their nitty-gritty and intricacies, will enable him administer a seamless government that will stimulate the system for maximum achievements.
Amaechi is unarguably renown for his proven character, integrity and forthrightness. Integrity is a rare virtue that promotes good governance , and Ameachi does not lack it. He acknowledges when he makes mistakes, because he is not infallible, but stands firmly to pursue whatever cause he believes is a good one ,especially those that of benefits masses. To him , as far as the society and economy is strong , every other thing will fall in place .
For the period he has served in government, he remains one of the few, without any financial scandal, nor associated howsoever, with inordinate acquisition of wealth , as he utilizes whatever resources at his disposal for service delivery.
Amaechi is an outstanding unifier and bridge builder, who lives beyond the artificial divides of religious, ethnic and class sentiments. He sees every human, irrespective of race , colour or status as one , only placed in wherever or whatever position they occupy by the intervention of circumstances of space and time ,as such no one should be discriminated against.
That is why, many of his close associates and friendship circle cut across various strata. Though born an Ikwerre, he sees himself like an Hausa-Fulani, Igbo, Yoruba, Ijaw and other races. He lives and adapt to others' lifestyles as much as practicable. He interfaces with all classes to ensure peaceful coexistence.
Amaechi is a bridge between the older generation and the younger ones, who being of middle age, has the grasp of both classes of persons. He is that President Nigeria needs now , that fills that chasm between these divides, and satisfies the yearning of the masses, for a paradigm shift of the leadership of the country to a younger generation.
Government is a continuous process, therefore for efficacious and sustainable implementations of projects , especially longterm ones, it is better for a successor to share some extent of principles and ideologies in terms of service delivery with his predecessor.
As an integral part of the PMB administration, Amaechi is best positioned to leverage on the foundation laid and the achievements of the government, for continuous implementations of projects that are ongoing, and other programmes in the overall masterplan of the present government.
One major factor in assessing a good government is the quantity and quality of service delivery. Amaechi has performed excellently in every ramification, when service delivery of world-class standards is put into cognisance. He is a locus classicus in this aspect.
In every position he has held, Amaechi has performed excellently and set standards , comparable to the best parts of the world. His exposure and penchant for quality, makes him settle for nothing less than what is expected of any developed society.
In Rivers State, where he held sway as the Governor for about Seven and half years, the unprecedented monumental achievements in service delivery, is difficult match.
The flyovers/interchange bridges , the ultra modern fully equipped hospitals , world-class model schools , dual carriageways with drainages, electrification and many more physical infrastructures of international repute are all over the State , which were executed in his tenure .
Manpower developed received much attention in his government, as he knows that when the society is developing, you need the necessary manpower capacity to compliment. He thus created employment opportunities, enabling environment for businesses to thrive and placed thousands on both local and foreign scholarships at various levels.
Amaechi as a governor expanded the State capital of Port Harcourt, with the Greater Port Harcourt project and transformed the entirety of the State.
When Amaechi came to power in 2007 in Rivers State, there was general restiveness and escalated insecurity. But within Months, he was able to contain the hoodlums and cultists perpetrating the mayhem, and restore the situation to normalcy.
As Minister of Transportation of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the prominence of his gigantic strides in all the sectors within his Ministry, are obvious. The rail sector has witnessed a total overhaul and transformation for the better. After a very long time, our railways are now functional, with ultramodern trains and terminals. The Maritime Sector is now able to compete globally and yield prodigious revenue. His phenomenal accomplishments will ever remain indelible in that ministry. Whatever Amaechi handles, transforms for the better.
Amaechi is passionate about the wellbeing of the nation, Nigeria, and willing to sacrifice all for its betterment . His patriotism to Nigeria knows no bound .
Being endowed with these rare qualities, coupled with his wealth of experience, therefore predisposes him as that President Nigeria needs to leverage for advancement in all sectors.
If he did it in Rivers State and did it in the Federal Ministry of Transpiration, he will do it even for the nation. If indeed we need good transformations in this country now , then Amaechi is the answer.
