2023: Remove PDP On The Ballot APC Pleades with Federal High Court Portharcourt
There is a clear indication that Rivers PDP May not have candidates in the coming 2023 general election in Rivers state as Rivers APC filed a fresh suit against INEC, PDP, and its Governorship Candidate, Siminialayi Fubara and thirty-one others in the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt on the ground of irregularities.
The opposition party in the state is praying the court to disqualify all the Candidates of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 general elections for allegedly delayed in forwarding the register containing the names of their candidates to the INEC within thirty days as required by electoral law.
Rivers APC also wants the court to disqualify all the PDP candidates in the state for not properly signing the letter containing the names of the candidates before forwarding it to INEC.
The reports made available to newsmen when the matter was mentioned in court, the lawyer to APC, Collins Dike asked that the court allow them serve the respondents using substituted means and the court granted it allowing the APC to serve the affected PDP candidates by pasting the process on their walls.
